Daddy’s little girl turns 4 today!! I can’t believe it! She has been so patient…waiting through Drew’s birthday and then Dwayne Jr.’s birthday, even cousin Peyton’s birthday. At three, it is hard to understand why you can’t have your celebration whenever you want it. So today is her day! Happy Birthday Julia!!

This past weekend we celebrated both Julia’s birthday and Becca’s birthday. Be sure to check out the Flickr goodness. Both Julia and Becca have their own sets in the birthday collection.

Just because I believe she is absolutely beautiful, here is one more picture of the birthday girl…

My little niece, Peyton, turned 5 this past week and Saturday was her birthday party…complete with a pony to ride for all! For those of you who know our kids, you can imagine how timid we would imagine them being around the pony…that is, except for Julia. We all knew she would ride the pony!

I guess we all kind of knew that Drew would run the other way. Sensory overload has never been his cup of tea..

What caught us all by PLEASANT surprise was Dwayne Jr.’s riding of the pony!! We have pictures [and video - but that will come later] to prove it!

We finally got him to admit that he needs to try more things because he had so much fun riding the pony. It’s a whole new ball game for Dwayne Jr. now! Another highlight from our adventures yesterday was taking the kids to Nina and Pop’s house to have their pictures taken under the dogwood trees. We (my brother and I) were forced every year to have our pictures taken under dogwoods. I always said I would never make my kids do that….I’m such a sinner!

Today is Dwayne Jr.’s 7th birthday!  My how time flies…

While at Mimi and Papa’s, one of the main events was to be Dwayne Jr.’s 7th birthday party. It has been an afternoon of great fun and many presents. To see the Flickr set, click on the picture!

This was a day of RELAXATION! Mimi took the kids off to the library for a marionette show and then a special lunch at McDonald’s (where else?). Dwayne Sr and Jennifer headed out to run a few errands and then lunch at the Honey Baked Ham Co. We ended the evening with a grand Moore Family shindig with pizza – everyone present (minus Becca Boo).

Today went okay…it was a day of both lows and highs, in that order.  This morning, we all took Nina and Pop off to the airport for their departure.  Goodbyes are never the best of experiences, but we understand purpose in God’s providence and rule.  I snapped a quick picture of the kids just before leaving the airport.  My Flickr account is not cooperating tonight because it seems I have hit my limit with my free account.  I have been meaning to upgrade to the paid account, but that will have to wait until the morning, so the picture is forthcoming…

This afternoon, we made the trip to see Mimi and Papa. This brought great joy to the kids, and thus the parents!  They played outside this evening and even took a golf cart ride with Papa to the playground (sorry, no pictures of that one).  Look forward to more pics tomorrow!

Today was a bit of a somber day around the house.  The only thing worse than saying “goodbye” is the impending “goodbye” itself.  That being said, there was plenty of fun to be had…

This afternoon, we enjoyed our final fun time with Nina and Pop before their departure.  Pop got all the kids these huge bubble wands.  I think Pop had just as much playing with the bubbles as the little kids did!

After visiting with Nina and Pop and saying our preliminary goodbyes, we all headed to church for our Wednesday night Bible study.  While in the Children’s room, Jennifer snapped a quick picture of the kids acting crazy with some plastic play “spectacles.”

Today, we pretty much stayed around the house. Dad had a meeting at church around lunch time so Mom took the kids to McD’s for lunch. Of course, they all received their “Happy Meal toys,” so joy filled the car ride home. Mom fired off a quick picture of them with their toys.

This evening, we all joined Uncle Matt, Aunt Joni, Nina and Pop for dinner at the playground and then some wonderful fun, sliding on the slides, swinging on the swings, and all other kids of general goodness in the spring time weather.

Today was Day 1 of Spring Break 2008.  There are a lot of events happening this week.  For the most part, it is business as usual…however, we are preparing for a departure and a trip.  Both occur on Thursday.  For today, though, we spent a good portion of time with Nina and Pop and cousins Peyton and Judah at the zoo and then eating at McDonald’s (where else?).

This evening, Julia had her gymnastics class (something she looks forward to with great enthusiasm almost daily).   Nina and Pop came out to watch her at her “nasticks” as she calls them.  Tonight, the boys and I stayed home and played for a while, waiting on Mama to bring home dinner and we are now watching the NCAA Final, which is in overtime, and which Jennifer will win the coveted Moore Cup.  Pictures, I’m sure, will be forthcoming regarding that.  Speaking of pictures, I have uploaded a ton of pictures tonight to our Flickr account.  Check them out here.
